Upholding ethical practices

Here at Fish HR we believe that the present economic mess we are in is in no small way due to the absence of ethical business practices in the commercial world today. There has been an incessant drive towards maximising profit at any cost, referring to our staff as "assets" or "human capital", managing our businesses by numbers and accountants and so the list goes on.

In the same way that we do not believe that HR issues can be resolved sensibly in a bubble detached from its environment, so we believe that the way we behave in business has many far reaching consequences, both good and bad.

As such, we endeavour always to promote ethical business practices. We believe that we have an ethical responsibility to treat our co-workers and colleagues fairly and with respect, be honest with our customers about whether we can help and how much that support is likely to cost, pay our suppliers on time, not avoid our taxes and remember that our negative personal behaviours can have an enduring and crippling effect on those around us and that we should aspire always to leave people's lives enriched not impoverished.

As a business, we choose to donate 10% of our profits to a number of charitable causes. By being a customer of ours, you therefore help, indirectly, to support these causes and perhaps together, we can help leave behind a legacy that makes us feel we have helped make a difference to those less fortunate than ourselves...
